ZSA Suicide Awareness Training

Aims and target audience

The Zero Suicide Alliance suicide awareness training aims to provide people with skills and confidence to help someone who may be considering suicide. It aims to equip, empower and educate people to have a potentially life-saving conversation with someone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts. 

The training is recommended for anyone aged 16 and over.

Learning outcomes

  • Learn how to spot suicide warning signs
  • Gain confidence in initiating and having a conversation with someone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts or ideation
  • Find out where to signpost people to for further support

Delivery methods and styles

Online e-learning (accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

Knowledge and skills required of the trainers

Training is designed to be taken by individual learners in an e-learning capacity.

No trainer is required to facilitate delivery of the training.

Involvement of people with lived experience

The training includes stories from those with lived experience including bereaved family members and suicide survivors.

Assessment, CPD credits, certification

CPD credits.

Certificate available to download at the end of the course.
